UPDATE - Thanks to all our generous donors Blackie was able to have the surgery she so desperately needed.  She is recovering wonderfully and no longer experiences the pain of stomatitis.  Blackie is now running and playing and enjoying life again.  Now she is able to eat and enjoy her meals instead of barely being able to swallow a few bites.  She is gaining some weight back and her coat is shiny and beautiful again.  The change is miraculous.  Once again, a big thanks to all our generous donors for giving Blackie her life back.  We couldn't have done it without you!

Blackie is a beautiful 3 year old kitty with a gentle and loving disposition.  She was rescued from a feral colony as a kitten and has been in foster care ever since.  Now Blackie has been diagnosed with Feline Stomatitis.  This is an auto-immune disorder in which the cat is allergic to the plaque on their teeth.  It’s a painful condition with excessive inflammation and pain along the gums and even into the back of the throat.  This condition can become so painful that the cat stops eating and drinking.  There is no cure and the only effective long term solution to end the pain is removing all the teeth.  This is an expensive surgery and we are asking for any donations to help cover the expense of the surgery.
